What to Expect

Our staff looks forward to meeting you and discussing your goals. We strive to keep our appointments on time as scheduled. Prior to your appointment, we recommend that you arrive 15 – 30 minutes early so you can have ample time to fill out the appropriate forms.

When you visit our office for the first time, you will have an evaluation with either Dr. Carll or a trained member of our medical team. Your first appointment may include a comprehensive medical history exam, physical tests, and an x-ray or MRI depending on your issue. Our team will ask questions relating to your condition. This may include describing your current pain, listing any treatments or medications currently used, and discussing any past injuries or surgeries that may be contributing factors. We will also discuss your general health and any conditions you may have such as diabetes, anemia, arthritis, or osteoporosis.

Physical Tests

Your practitioner may perform a physical test to assess your pain, range of motion, and reflexes. We will observe your general ability to move around while walking, sitting, standing, bending forward and backward, and performing other movements. These tests help Dr. Carll rule out or confirm possible diagnoses.

X-rays, MRIs, and Imaging

Depending on your issue, we may order an X-ray, MRI, or other imaging tests of the affected area. If you have previous or current imaging results, please bring those with your to the appointment. We use X-rays and MRIs in combination with a physical examination to gain an understanding of the current state of your condition and whether or not there are any existing complications. If you have concerns about any of these imaging tests or if you are pregnant, please discuss with your physician during your first visit
